The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/22M transient data interface module, abbreviated as TDI, is a full-height rack gateway module integrated with RIM rack interface function for the Bently Nevada 3500 machinery protection TSI system. This TDI data gateway must be installed in slot 1 next to the rack power supply, replacing the separate 3500/20 RIM and communication processor. It communicates with all M-series monitor modules on the backplane bus, continuously collecting steady-state measurement values, alarm events, and high-resolution transient waveform data including vibration, shaft orbit and rotational speed. It is equipped with front USB-B port for local rack configuration and firmware upgrade, and rear Ethernet interface including copper 10/100Base-TX or optional 100Base-FX fiber Ethernet. It supports bidirectional connection with System 1 diagnostic software and 3500 configuration software. Dynamic waveform capture requires optional channel enable disk. The module sits outside the safety protection path, so machinery protection trip function remains intact even when communication fails. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status, communication activity and valid rack configuration state, and a rack OK relay outputs remote fault signal. It supports hot swapping without breaking the safety protection loop. Built-in continuous self-diagnosis detects backplane communication errors and internal hardware faults. It is widely used in petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy industries, matched with steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, serving as core rack management and high-speed waveform acquisition unit for rotating machinery condition monitoring and fault diagnosis.
