The B&R X20DC1196 is X20 series single-width high-speed digital counter module designed for 5V ABR incremental encoder connection, supporting maximum 600kHz input frequency and 4x signal evaluation for high-precision position and speed measurement. It provides built-in 5VDC and 24VDC power supply for encoder, maximum output current reaches 300mA to power incremental encoders directly. Besides the main encoder channel, this module integrates two extra 24VDC sink-type digital inputs which can be used for home switch, enable signal or limit sensor signal collection, complying with EN 61131-2 Type 1 input standard. The counter supports 16-bit and 32-bit counting mode, hardware input filter ≤200ns guarantees stable capture of high-speed pulse signals. 500V effective isolation is implemented between field signal channel and X2X Link bus circuit to suppress electromagnetic interference in noisy industrial environments. It supports encoder power supply monitoring and software diagnosis function to quickly detect wiring faults and encoder abnormal status. LED indicators display module running status, encoder signal condition and two auxiliary digital input states for convenient on-site inspection and troubleshooting. This split modular unit needs to be matched with X20BM11 bus carrier and X20TB12 terminal block to build complete signal assembly for X20 automation station. It carries ATEX Zone2, cULus HazLoc and marine certifications including DNV, ABS, KR and CCS, suitable for auxiliary hazardous and marine automation systems.
