The XYCOM XVME-220 is a discontinued 6U VMEbus opto-isolated digital output module, designed for XYCOM legacy VME control racks and industrial discrete automation systems. It provides 32 independent open-collector output channels, each channel supports 30VDC maximum voltage and 100mA sink current, with 300VDC optical isolation between the field side and VME bus circuit. The built-in transient suppression and reverse bias protection circuits prevent damage from voltage spikes and reverse polarity signals, greatly improving reliability when driving inductive loads. This module acts as the control signal interface between the VME master CPU and field actuators, including solenoid valves, solid state relays, indicator lamps and alarm devices. All outputs are automatically disabled at power-up and software reset for safe startup, and the output status can be read back by software for status verification. The board follows standard VMEbus slave protocol, and users can configure base address through on-board DIP switches and jumpers to avoid address conflicts with other VME modules installed in the same chassis.
