The XYCOM XVME-100, also marked as PN 70100-001, is a discontinued single-height 3U VMEbus RAM/ROM memory expansion module built for XYCOM legacy VME control racks and embedded industrial systems. This module provides flexible storage expansion for the VME master CPU, supporting up to 1MB RAM, EPROM, mask ROM or 256KB EEPROM, fitted with eight 28/32-pin JEDEC sockets divided into two independent banks of four sockets each. It integrates onboard battery backup circuitry and undervoltage protection that triggers at 4.75V, which retains critical control parameters, runtime setpoints and program data when the main VME power supply fails, preventing data loss and system reset after power interruption. The module follows VMEbus C1 standard, supporting access speed ranging from 100ns to 250ns. Users can adjust on-board jumpers to configure memory type, base address, access timing and backup power mode to avoid address conflicts with other VME boards in the same chassis.
