Product Details
The XYCOM XVME-085 is a discontinued 6U VMEbus non-intelligent kernel prototyping module, also known as Proto board, designed for custom hardware development and special interface verification within XYCOM VME control racks. It follows the IEEE 1014 VMEbus standard and acts as a ready-made VME slave base board, integrating all essential bus logic circuits including timing generation, address and data buffers, control signal driving and interrupt support circuitry. The board provides a large prototype wiring grid area for users to solder discrete components and build custom signal circuits, which helps engineers quickly develop and test special I/O interfaces, signal conversion circuits and auxiliary hardware functions without designing a full VME board from scratch. It supports A16/D08 VME slave interface, with DIP switches and jumpers for configurable address decoding and interrupt level setting to avoid resource conflicts with other VME modules in the same chassis. Built-in status and control registers follow XYCOM standard I/O architecture, making it easy to communicate with the VME master CPU for data read and write operations. The front edge is equipped with LED indicators for power status, bus access and module fault, allowing technicians to check bus handshake and wiring problems conveniently during prototype testing and commissioning. The PCB adopts industrial-grade components and EMC filtering design, which suppresses electromagnetic interference from inverters and servo drives in factory environments to maintain stable bus communication. This legacy prototyping board is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for existing XYCOM VME development systems. Users need to confirm VME chassis compatibility and bus address allocation before installation. A conformal coated version is optional for high humidity, dusty industrial sites. This model is widely used in custom interface development, special signal acquisition test, and legacy VME automation system modification projects.
This vme prototyping module adopts standard 6U VME rack mount structure. It draws power from the VME backplane. LED indicators display power status, bus activity and fault alarm for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards and has CE certifications. It supports bus address and interrupt configuration backup for fast recovery after hardware replacement.
This XYCOM XVME-085 VME prototyping module is widely applied in legacy VME control racks and custom industrial hardware development projects. It provides a convenient base platform for building user-defined VME slave circuits. As a reliable discontinued spare part, the XYCOM XVME-085 retains original VME bus timing and signal compatibility, and effectively reduces the renovation cost of legacy industrial control system maintenance.
