The XYCOM 9987, also named Portrait PC, is a discontinued PC/AT compatible flat panel industrial workstation built for factory floor and harsh process automation environments. It adopts a slim vertical form factor with only 5.62 inches mounting depth, which saves cabinet installation space compared with traditional CRT operator workstations. This unit is equipped with a 10.4-inch 256-color CCFT TFT LCD display at 640×480 VGA resolution, paired with a built-in membrane keypad including 32 data entry keys and 10 programmable function keys, allowing operators to adjust setpoints, confirm alarms and switch screen pages directly. The sealed front panel meets NEMA 4/4X/12 and IP65 protection standards after standard panel mounting, providing reliable defense against dust, splashing water and oil mist on site. It is powered by 486 or Pentium single-board industrial CPU, equipped with a four-slot full-length passive ISA backplane, users can install ISA communication cards, fieldbus cards and data acquisition cards to connect with legacy PLCs, transmitters and variable frequency drives.
