Product Details
The XYCOM 9660 is a discontinued 6U VME non-intelligent carrier board, designed to serve as an interface bridge between the VME backplane and up to four IPAC I/O modules for industrial control and data acquisition systems. This carrier board enables seamless integration of IP-format signal modules into standard VME bus chassis, supporting full data access and register read-write operations for each installed IPAC module through the front panel connector. It supports two independent interrupt requests per IPAC module, and maps these interrupt signals to one of seven available VME interrupt lines, which is flexible for event-driven control applications. Four dedicated front-panel LED indicators correspond to each module slot, providing quick visual feedback to verify successful communication with IPAC modules and simplify on-site fault diagnosis. The base address of the board is configurable via onboard jumper bank, and it occupies a 1K-byte address block within the VME short I/O address space. It is widely compatible with a series of XYCOM IPAC modules including digital input, digital output, analog I/O and counter modules, suitable for building custom VME-based measurement and control systems. This board works with standard VME chassis and host CPU boards, it does not contain an onboard processor and relies on the VME master controller to handle all data exchange and logic scheduling. This legacy bus carrier is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for existing VME automation systems, and users need to confirm jumper address settings and interrupt allocation before installation. A conformal coated version is optional for high humidity, dusty industrial sites. This model is widely used in particle accelerator control, industrial test benches, legacy process control systems and old automation equipment renovation projects.
This VME carrier board adopts standard 6U Eurocard form factor. It accepts VME bus power supply +5V, ±12V. LED indicators display slot communication status for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards and has obtained CE certifications. It supports jumper configuration backup for fast recovery after hardware replacement.
This XYCOM 9660 VME IPAC carrier board is widely applied in VME industrial test systems, scientific instrument control cabinets and legacy distributed I/O retrofit projects. It provides reliable bus expansion capability to expand VME systems with modular IPAC I/O modules. As a reliable discontinued VME carrier spare part, the XYCOM 9660 retains original bus wiring and interrupt configuration logic, and effectively reduces the renovation cost of legacy VME control system maintenance.
