Product Details

The XYCOM 81987-101A1805 is a discontinued rack-mounted 1805 series general-purpose I/O control board, belonging to the high channel density 101 series of the 81987 product family and compatible with XYCOM legacy CNC and process automation control racks. It follows the same rack form factor and backplane connector definition for installation in the 1805 chassis, and features expanded I/O capacity compared with the 001 version of the same series, supporting replacement and capacity upgrade of the original low-density I/O boards. This board acts as a universal signal interface connecting the main controller board and field discrete devices such as limit switches, proximity sensors, safety interlock switches, relay coils and solenoid valves. It undertakes multi-channel digital input acquisition and digital output driving tasks for auxiliary machine control and real-time status feedback. The board integrates signal conditioning, contact debounce, surge suppression and noise filtering circuits, which can effectively filter transient interference and contact bounce generated by servo motors, inverters and spindle drive units in machining workshops, so as to ensure reliable and accurate transmission of switching signals. It communicates with the master CPU through the dedicated backplane bus, uploading real-time I/O status and receiving control commands to support flexible logic configuration for equipment interlock, lubrication, cooling, chuck control and safety protection functions. Technicians can adjust on-board DIP switches and jumpers to set input polarity, output mode and station address, matching different I/O allocation schemes of machine tools and process control systems. The front panel is equipped with LED indicators for power supply, input signal activity, output trigger and fault alarm, allowing maintenance personnel to quickly check signal status, locate wiring faults and verify control logic during commissioning and routine maintenance. The PCB adopts industrial-grade electronic components and complete EMC protection design, which can resist vibration, dust and electromagnetic noise in harsh machining and chemical plant environments to maintain stable long-time operation. This legacy general I/O board is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for existing XYCOM automation systems. Users need to confirm backplane pin definition, I/O address mapping and host firmware compatibility before installation. A conformal coated version is optional for high humidity, dusty and corrosive industrial sites. This model is widely used in CNC machine tools, production line automation, process auxiliary control and old industrial control system retrofit projects.

This general purpose I/O control board adopts standard single-slot rack board structure. It draws power from the control system backplane. LED indicators display power status, signal activity and fault alarm for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards and has CE certifications. It supports I/O address and signal configuration backup for fast recovery after hardware replacement.

This XYCOM 81987-101A1805 I/O control board is widely applied in legacy CNC and process control racks and automation equipment upgrade projects. It provides reliable universal discrete signal interaction between the master controller and field devices. As a reliable discontinued spare part, the XYCOM 81987-101A1805 retains original bus timing and signal compatibility, and effectively reduces the renovation cost of legacy industrial control system maintenance.
