The XYCOM 70686-007 XVME-686 is a discontinued 6U single-slot VMEbus PC-compatible processor module built with Intel 486 series processor, designed as the master controller for legacy XYCOM VME racks and DCS process automation platforms. This onboard CPU integrates configurable DRAM, IDE storage interface, VGA video output, dual RS232 serial ports, parallel printer port and floppy disk controller, which can run DOS and early embedded industrial operating systems, supporting original PC-based control software and human-machine interface programs. It complies with standard VME bus specification and supports A16/A24/A32 address space, 7-level VME interrupt daisy chain and bus arbitration function, capable of communicating with analog input, analog output and digital I/O slave modules on the backplane to collect field signals and execute real-time control logic.
