Product Details
The XYCOM 70244-701 XVME-244 is a discontinued 6U VMEbus optically isolated digital I/O module, built for legacy XYCOM VME control racks and DCS process automation platforms. It provides a total of 64 discrete channels, including 32 digital input channels and 32 digital output channels, grouped into eight banks of eight channels each. Every bank is electrically separated by optical isolation, which creates high dielectric isolation between the field wiring side and the VME backplane circuit, effectively blocking ground loop current, common-mode noise and transient voltage surges from field devices. The input section adopts built-in debounce circuits to eliminate unstable signal jitter caused by mechanical contact bounce from limit switches, push buttons and proximity sensors. Four filtered input channels are reserved for applications that need extra signal smoothing. The input supports 10 to 35 VDC signal level, while the sourcing output channels can drive up to 400mA per channel, suitable for directly driving relays, indicator lamps and small solenoid valves. During power-up, software reset or SYSFAIL fault state, all outputs will be disabled automatically as a safe default state to prevent unexpected equipment action. This module follows standard VME slave protocol, supports A16 and A24 address space, and users can set base address via on-board DIP switches and jumpers to avoid address conflicts on the shared backplane. The front panel is fitted with LED indicators for channel status and bus power status, helping maintenance technicians quickly check signal status, locate wiring faults and verify configuration settings during commissioning and routine inspection. The circuit is equipped with reverse voltage protection and transient suppression components to improve reliability in harsh industrial environments. This legacy isolated digital I/O module is mainly supplied as spare replacement parts for existing VME automation systems. Users need to confirm field voltage level, isolation requirements and address mapping before installation. A conformal coated version is optional for high humidity, dusty industrial sites. This model is widely used in chemical process skids, power plant auxiliary control racks, oil & gas field control panels and old VME-based automation renovation projects.
This isolated VME digital I/O card adopts standard 6U single-slot VME board structure. It draws power from the VME backplane and requires external field power for output loads. LED indicators display power status and channel signal status for convenient on-site inspection. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 50°C, storage temperature ranges from -40°C to 85°C, relative humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. It complies with industrial shock, vibration and EMC standards and has CE certifications. It supports base address and channel configuration backup for fast recovery after hardware replacement.
This XYCOM 70244-701 XVME-244 digital I/O module is widely applied in legacy VME control racks and DCS system upgrade projects. It provides safe, noise-resistant discrete signal acquisition and output between VME host controllers and field devices. As a reliable discontinued VME spare part, the XYCOM 70244-701 XVME-244 retains original bus timing and isolation circuit logic, and effectively reduces the renovation cost of legacy industrial control system maintenance.
