The XYCOM 4870 is a discontinued 9-inch amber electroluminescent flat panel industrial terminal, designed for legacy factory and process automation operator interface. It uses an EL amber display instead of CRT, featuring thin depth, shock resistance and clear readability in dim industrial environments, well suited for locations where bulky CRT terminals cannot be installed. This unit comes with a sealed 28-key membrane keypad, and supports optional external full keyboard. It can be configured to emulate Hazeltine 1500 or ANSI VT100/VT220 terminal modes, supporting screen formatting, line drawing, box graphics, process symbols and bar graph display for on-site data visualization. It is equipped with RS232C serial communication port, compatible with legacy PLCs, controllers and serial host devices, and users can adjust baud rate, parity, data bits and stop bits for serial matching. It supports two installation methods: standard panel mounting to meet NEMA 4 and NEMA 12 protection, or 19-inch rack mounting for control cabinet rack layout. It has built-in intelligent terminal logic, and can respond to remote host commands to update screen data, show alarm messages and accept keypad input. The front panel is dust-resistant and splash-proof, adapting to general workshop conditions. It accepts wide-range AC power input and runs continuously with stable anti-surge performance. This terminal works independently and will not interfere with the control logic of the connected host controller. It is mainly supplied as spare parts for old automation system maintenance, and the original terminal configuration settings need to be backed up before replacement.
