The XYCOM 4860A is a discontinued upgraded 12-inch IT terminal operator interface, serving as the enhanced successor of the XYCOM 4850A within the 4800 series for legacy DCS and continuous process automation systems. It adopts a high-performance internal processing unit and improved communication circuit design, delivering faster data refresh and stronger anti-interference capability for long-distance field serial wiring. This terminal works with the matching 4810-KYB sealed membrane keyboard, allowing operators to monitor real-time process variables, view alarm logs and historical trend curves, acknowledge active alarms, adjust control setpoints and send on-site operation commands. It is equipped with RS232 and RS485 serial communication ports, supporting multiple mainstream industrial serial protocols to realize stable bidirectional data exchange with XYCOM VME controllers, PLCs and host DCS systems. It retains modular expansion architecture, and users can install optional communication and I/O expansion cards to add extra serial channels or protocol conversion functions according to project control requirements. The whole unit adopts heavy-duty all-metal rugged housing with electromagnetic shielding and shock absorption structure, which can resist vibration, dust, moisture and electromagnetic interference in chemical, power and wastewater industrial sites.
