The XYCOM 4850 is a discontinued 12-inch CRT operator interface terminal in the XYCOM Softscreen series, developed for legacy factory and process automation monitoring and on-site operation. It adopts standard panel mounting layout, and the cabinet cutout size is consistent with other Softscreen series terminals, so it can be directly replaced without heavy cabinet modification during maintenance work. It supports RS232, RS485 and DH485 serial communication, which can connect with classic Allen‑Bradley PLC-5, SLC 500, as well as serial transmitters, flow meters, weighing instruments and other third-party field devices. It runs Softscreen runtime software, and all screen projects are edited and downloaded via the dedicated Xyware configuration tool. An internal lithium backup battery keeps HMI project files and real-time clock data intact when main power is lost, and battery aging is a common failure for this vintage CRT unit. The sealed front panel provides dust and splash protection for general industrial workshop environments. It supports 115/230VAC wide voltage power supply and can run continuously for a long time with surge protection. This HMI works independently and will not interfere with the control logic of the connected PLC.
