Product Details:
Woodward 5432-039 is a microprocessor-based 505E digital turbine controller, belonging to the mature 505E governor product family. It is designed for single extraction or admission steam turbine units, and it also supports single-valve prime mover applications and split-range actuator layout. It manages the whole turbine control sequence including startup acceleration ramp, constant speed regulation and constant load control for generator units.
This controller receives speed pulse signals from magnetic pickups, 4-20mA analog process signals for extraction pressure monitoring, and dry-contact discrete interlock and trip feedback signals from on-site safety switches. It outputs two independent actuator drive signals to control the main steam valve and extraction valve. The built-in decoupling algorithm reduces the interference between speed loop and pressure loop, maintaining stable rotating speed, generator load and extraction steam pressure at the same time.
The front panel is equipped with a two-line 24-character LCD display and multi-function membrane keypad. Operators can configure acceleration ramp, idle speed, rated speed, pressure setpoints and alarm limits locally. They can check first-out fault records and complete manual start, stop and reset operations without extra configuration tools.
It has abundant built-in I/O resources, including multiple analog input channels, analog output channels, discrete input and output channels. It can connect lubricating oil pressure switches, vibration transmitters, trip relays and other safety interlock devices. It supports RS232 and RS422 serial communication based on Modbus protocol, enabling bidirectional data exchange with DCS and SCADA systems for remote monitoring, parameter modification and remote operation commands.
It integrates independent overspeed protection logic and comprehensive hardware self-diagnosis function. It can detect abnormal conditions such as speed signal loss, actuator feedback deviation, module power failure and internal hardware fault. The controller will trigger alarm and safe trip actions according to preset protection sequence to avoid turbine overspeed and overpressure damage.
It adopts standard panel mounting structure, suitable for installation in turbine local control cabinets and central control rooms. It is widely used in petrochemical, chemical, paper making and cogeneration power generation projects. It is commonly used for old mechanical governor renovation, control cabinet upgrading and spare parts replacement. It is a stable multi-variable control solution for extraction steam turbine equipment.
