Woodward 5415-625 is a microprocessor-based 505E digital turbine controller for single-valve steam turbines, gas turbines and other prime mover equipment without extraction and admission loops. It serves as the core closed-loop control unit for turbine speed and load management, responsible for automatic startup, acceleration, constant speed control, constant load control and safe shutdown sequence. It collects speed pulse signals from magnetic pickups, standard 4-20mA analog setpoint signals and discrete interlock contact signals from field switches, then outputs drive signals to hydraulic actuators to adjust steam or fuel valve opening, stabilizing turbine rotating speed and generator active power output. The front panel is equipped with a two-line 24-character LCD display and membrane keypad, supporting local parameter configuration, real-time operating variable monitoring, alarm history query and manual reset operation. It is equipped with abundant configurable I/O resources, including analog input channels, analog output channels, discrete inputs and discrete outputs, which can be connected with lube oil pressure switches, vibration monitors, trip relays and auxiliary interlock devices. It supports RS232 and RS422 serial communication based on Modbus protocol, realizing two-way data exchange with DCS and SCADA systems for remote monitoring, remote setpoint modification and remote control commands. It integrates independent overspeed protection logic and comprehensive hardware self-diagnosis function, it can detect speed signal loss, actuator feedback deviation, module power failure and internal hardware abnormality, trigger alarm and preset safe trip action to prevent turbine overspeed damage. It adopts standard panel mounting structure, suitable for installation in turbine local control cabinet and central control room. It is widely used in power generation, petrochemical and chemical automation projects, for turbine-driven pumps, compressors and generator sets, new unit construction, old mechanical governor transformation and spare parts replacement.
