Woodward 5410-995 is a microprocessor-based 505E digital turbine controller for single-valve steam turbines, gas turbines and other prime mover equipment without extraction or admission pressure loops. It acts as the core speed and load regulating unit, managing the whole startup sequence, acceleration, steady-state speed control, load control and safe shutdown process of the turbine set. It receives pulse speed signals from magnetic pickups, 4-20mA analog setpoint signals and discrete contact status signals from field trip switches and interlock devices, then outputs drive signals to hydraulic actuators to adjust steam or fuel valve opening, stabilizing rotating speed and generator active power output. The front panel is equipped with a two-line 24-character LCD display and membrane keypad, supporting local parameter configuration, real-time variable monitoring, alarm log query and manual operation reset. It integrates abundant configurable I/O resources, including multiple analog input, analog output, discrete input and discrete output channels, which can connect lube oil pressure switches, vibration monitors, trip relays and auxiliary interlock equipment. It supports RS232 and RS422 serial communication based on Modbus protocol, realizing bidirectional data exchange with DCS, SCADA and upper monitoring system for remote setpoint adjustment, trend recording and remote command receiving. It has built-in complete overspeed protection logic and multi-dimensional hardware self-diagnosis function. It can detect speed signal loss, actuator feedback deviation, module power failure and internal hardware abnormality, trigger alarm and preset safe trip action to prevent turbine overspeed damage. It adopts standard panel mounting structure and can be installed in turbine local control cabinet or central control room. It is widely used in power generation, petrochemical and chemical automation projects, for turbine-driven pumps, compressors and generator sets, new unit construction, old mechanical governor renovation and spare parts replacement.
