Honeywell 5403-536 is the matching digital input module of the 5403 series rack I/O family, paired with 5403-535 relay output module for discrete signal acquisition. It is used to collect on-site switch status signals and transmit isolated switch information back to the controller. It supports dry contact switching signal input from field limit switches, pressure switches, level switches, auxiliary contact of circuit breakers and hand-auto selection switches. Each input channel adopts opto-isolation design, which isolates the field switch circuit and the internal logic circuit of the module, preventing high voltage surge, ground potential difference and interference from field wiring from damaging the control backplane circuit. When the field switch contact closes or opens, the optocoupler will switch the on-off state, the module logic circuit captures this state change and converts it into digital bus signal recognizable by the controller. Each channel is equipped with LED status indicator to display the on/off state of the field switch, convenient for engineers to check signal status during commissioning and maintenance. It has built-in channel fault detection function, which can identify abnormal power supply and circuit failure, and upload fault alarm information to the control system. It adopts standard rack mounting structure and can be installed side by side with 5403-535 relay output module and other I/O cards in the same control cabinet.
