The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/20-02-02-00 is the TMR triple modular redundant rack interface module(RIM) designed specially for the Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection rack system. The suffix -02 stands for TMR version, -02 represents RS232 front port and RS422 rear serial port without built-in modem, -00 means no special hazardous area certification, suitable for ordinary control room environments. This module must be installed in slot 1 of the TMR rack next to the power supply, and each TMR rack requires one TMR RIM. It collects real-time measurement data, channel alarm status, module health signals and timestamped event logs from all monitor cards on the backplane bus. Apart from standard RIM functions including rack configuration download, real-time data reading and alarm browsing, this TMR RIM continuously compares measurement values from three redundant monitor channels. When data deviation exceeds the preset threshold, the module marks the faulty channel and records system events, helping engineers identify inconsistent sensor signals and reduce false trip risk. It adopts Bently proprietary protocol, supports multi-rack daisy chain connection via RS422, and can link to TDXnet, TDIX and DDIX communication processors to upload monitoring data to plant upper control systems. The RIM is not inside the safety trip path; RIM failure will not affect the vibration, temperature and relay protection logic of the whole TSI system. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status and TX/RX communication activity for routine on-site inspection. The module supports hot swapping during normal rack operation, hardware replacement will not interrupt the safety protection function of the TMR system. It complies with API 670 turbomachinery monitoring standard, widely applied in petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy industries, matched with steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, providing dedicated TMR rack system configuration, data acquisition and channel comparison functions.
