The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/50-04-00 full-height 2-channel tachometer monitor module belongs to Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection system. The suffix -04 represents internal safety barrier plus internal termination I/O type, -00 means no additional special certification. This module can be installed in any free slot of the 3500 rack. It receives pulse signals from proximity probes or magnetic speed pickups, and calculates shaft rotating speed, rotor acceleration and rotation direction. Built-in internal safety barrier allows direct connection to sensors mounted in hazardous areas. Two channels can be independently configured via 3500 rack configuration software for overspeed, zero speed, acceleration and reverse rotation alarm logic. It can output conditioned Keyphasor timing signal to rack backplane for other monitor channels, saving an independent Keyphasor module. It has peak hold function to record maximum speed and reverse rotation speed, and the peak value can be manually reset. Engineers can set independent Alert and Danger alarm thresholds. When the speed exceeds the preset value, the module sends alarm signals to rack relay modules to trigger machinery alarm or shutdown interlock. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status, bypass state and each channel alarm state for on-site inspection. Built-in self-diagnosis function can detect probe open circuit, short circuit and signal loss faults. It supports hot swapping during normal rack operation, maintenance staff can replace the module without shutting down the whole TSI system. It complies with API 670 turbomachinery monitoring standard, widely applied in petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy industries, matched with steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, used for rotating machinery overspeed protection and shaft speed monitoring for hazardous area sensors.
