The BENTLY NEVADA 3500/20-01-02-00 rack interface module(RIM) is a full-height plug-in card for Bently Nevada 3500 TSI machinery protection system. The suffix -01 means standard RIM type, -02 represents RS232 and RS422 serial interface version without built-in modem, -00 indicates no special agency certification for ordinary control room environments. This module must be installed in rack slot 1 next to the power supply, and every 3500 rack requires one RIM as the core system interface. It collects real-time measurement data, channel alarm status, module health signals and timestamped event logs from all monitor cards on the backplane bus. It adopts Bently proprietary communication protocol, supporting PC rack configuration, parameter downloading and multi-rack daisy-chain connection via RS422. It can connect to TDXnet, TDIX and DDIX external communication processors to transmit vibration, temperature and position data to plant upper control systems. It is important that the RIM is not inside the safety trip path; if the RIM fails, the rack monitor and relay modules still complete alarm and protection functions independently. Front panel LED indicators display module OK status and TX/RX communication activity for routine inspection. The module supports hot swapping during normal rack operation, hardware replacement will not interrupt the safety protection logic of the whole TSI system. This model has been discontinued, and the replacement model is 3500/22 TDI module. It complies with API 670 turbomachinery monitoring standard, widely used in petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy industries, matched with steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors, responsible for rack system configuration, real-time data acquisition and multi-rack serial communication.
