ABB REF542plus is a compact multifunctional bay control and protection relay designed for medium voltage power distribution substation automation systems. The multifunctional bay control and protection relay integrates protection, measurement, monitoring, control and self-diagnosis functions in one device. It can realize feeder protection, transformer protection and motor protection for medium voltage switchgear, monitor real-time electrical parameters of power equipment, execute switch control commands and record fault event data. This ABB REF542plus feeder terminal supports rich configurable protection functions including overcurrent protection, earth fault protection, overvoltage and undervoltage protection, distance protection, differential protection and frequency protection. It is composed of base unit and independent HMI panel, connected by serial cable. The medium voltage feeder terminal supports multiple communication protocols and built-in web server, it can connect to SCADA and substation automation systems for remote data access and parameter configuration. It has built-in self-diagnostic function to continuously check hardware operating status and internal circuit faults, and trigger fault alarm for fast troubleshooting. It adopts reliable hardware design to adapt to harsh power substation environments.
