The UPACM34AAN is an ACCEL accelerated advanced control processor from Moore ACMx family under Siemens APACS+ DCS platform, which is the upgraded high-speed version of standard ACM controllers. It is equipped with 4MB onboard memory and optimized fast scan cycle, delivering faster loop response than 39ACM14 and 39ACM28 series, suitable for control loops that require rapid closed-loop adjustment. It supports redundant pairing, realizing bumpless transfer between primary and backup controllers to avoid unexpected process trips when the main unit fails.

It is inserted into the standard ACMx rack slot and communicates with all rack I/O modules through high-speed backplane bus. The built-in diagnostic suite continuously monitors bus synchronization, memory integrity, program operation status and redundant synchronization condition, sending fault alarm messages to the system HMI for quick troubleshooting. The suffix AAN defines its fixed hardware configuration and function options, and it cannot be interchanged with ordinary ACM processors without ACCEL acceleration architecture. It works only in ACMx racks and is incompatible with QUADLOG CCMx racks.

The internal PCB is coated with conformal coating to resist dust, condensation and light corrosive vapors in refinery and chemical plant control rooms. The front panel LED indicators clearly display running mode, redundant sync status and fault codes for convenient on-site inspection. Hot swap can be carried out under specific rack operating modes, but process risk assessment must be completed before online replacement.

Most stocked units are surplus modules recovered from retired APACS+ control racks and fully tested. Before installation, technicians need to match the rack firmware version and complete redundant switchover test offline. Mismatched firmware will lead to loss of acceleration performance and redundant function failure.

Industry Applications: Applied in gas compression skids, chemical reaction units, high-speed pressure regulation loops and boiler safety auxiliary control systems for fast-response PID control and sequential logic processing.
