  The QLCCM36AAN is a CCMx critical control processor built for Siemens QUADLOG and APACS+ distributed control platforms, differentiated from standard ACMx controllers by its safety-oriented architecture. It carries 6MB onboard memory and runs on a 24VDC power supply with a working current of 0.32A, optimized specifically for safety interlock and critical regulatory loops that demand ultra-fast response. This processor supports redundant pairing as its core design feature, capable of bumpless transfer between primary and backup units to avoid process trips during controller failure events.

  It plugs into the dedicated QUADLOG backplane and communicates with the rack’s I/O modules through a high-speed system bus. Unlike general-purpose DCS controllers, its firmware is tuned for safety-related logic and high-priority PID control rather than large-volume sequential logic. The module’s built-in diagnostic suite continuously monitors bus health, memory integrity and redundant sync status, feeding fault alerts to the system HMI for quick operator awareness. It is not interchangeable with regular ACMx processors, and it can only operate within QUADLOG configured racks.

  The unit features a rugged industrial housing with heat dissipation fins to handle continuous operation in crowded control cabinets. Its conformal coated PCB protects against condensation and light chemical vapors typical in refinery and chemical plant control rooms. The front status LEDs clearly display run mode, synchronization state and fault codes for on-site inspection.

  Most stocked units are tested surplus modules salvaged from decommissioned QUADLOG systems. Before installation, technicians must validate rack firmware compatibility and complete redundant switchover testing offline. Firmware version matching is mandatory, and wrong firmware loading will lead to loss of redundancy function.
