The QLCAIAAN is a CAI critical analog input module of Moore QUADLOG safety DCS series under Siemens, designed specially for safety instrumented loops. It supports 4-20mA, 1-5VDC analog signals from field pressure, flow, temperature and level transmitters, converting analog sensor signals into digital data for CCMx safety controllers. It features high measurement accuracy and safety-level diagnostic logic, which is stricter than ordinary ACMx analog modules.

It is installed in dedicated QUADLOG safety rack slots and communicates with CCMx processors through safety backplane bus. It can continuously detect wire break, short circuit and signal out-of-range faults of instrument loops, and upload fault information to the HMI promptly. The suffix AAN defines its channel configuration and hardware revision. It only matches QUADLOG safety racks and cannot be used in ACMx racks.

The internal PCB is coated with conformal coating to resist dust, condensation and light corrosive vapors in refinery and chemical safety control rooms. The front LED indicators display bus link status, channel active state and module fault alarms for convenient on-site inspection. Hot swap can be performed under specific rack operation modes, but safety risk assessment must be completed before online replacement.

Most stocked units are surplus modules recovered from decommissioned QUADLOG safety racks and fully tested. Before installation, technicians need to confirm the safety rack compatibility and complete signal scaling calibration to meet safety loop requirements.

Industry Applications: Applied in oil refinery safety loops, hazardous chemical reaction units, gas compressor protection systems and boiler safety interlock facilities for high-reliability analog signal acquisition.
