The 39SAIAAN is the SAI standard analog input module originally developed by Moore under Siemens APACS+ DCS platform, alternate part number 16437-101. It is dedicated to collecting 4-20mA analog signals from field transmitters for pressure, flow, temperature and liquid level measurement. It only supports analog input channels without analog output function, different from the SAM combined analog I/O module. Each channel adopts isolated circuit design to suppress electromagnetic interference from on-site motors and frequency converters, preventing surge signals from damaging the control rack backplane.

It fits into standard ACMx rack slots and can also work in QUADLOG racks for non-safety analog signal collection. It communicates with ACM or CCM host controllers via high-speed backplane bus. Built-in channel diagnostic function can detect open circuit, short circuit and signal over-range faults of instrument loops, and push fault alarm information to the HMI for rapid maintenance positioning. The suffix AAN defines its fixed channel configuration and hardware revision. It cannot be directly replaced by SAM analog I/O modules or EAM enhanced analog modules.

The PCB board adopts conformal coating to resist dust, condensation and light corrosive vapors in refinery and chemical control rooms. The LED indicators on the front panel clearly display bus communication state, individual channel working condition and module fault alarms for convenient on-site inspection. Hot swap is supported under specific rack operation modes, but technicians need to complete process risk assessment before online replacement.

Most stocked units are surplus modules recovered from decommissioned APACS+ control racks and fully tested. Before installation, technicians need to confirm the suffix configuration and complete channel calibration with a standard signal source to guarantee measurement accuracy.

Industry Applications: Applied in petrochemical auxiliary skids, gas metering systems, boiler control rooms and water treatment facilities for one-way acquisition of standard 4-20mA analog instrument signals.
