  The 16249-51 is the base MBI ISA slot M-Bus interface module of Moore APACS+ series under Siemens, the base platform for various sub-revisions such as 16249-51/2 and 16249-51/6. It is designed for installation inside the ISA expansion slot of industrial monitoring workstations, acting as the communication gateway between the IPC host and APACS+ M-Bus control network. It converts ISA parallel bus signals into dedicated M-Bus protocol data, realizing bidirectional transmission of real-time process values, alarm messages and control parameters between upper monitoring stations and ACMx control racks.

  This module integrates signal isolation and surge protection circuits to filter interference on the M-Bus network, preventing abnormal network signals from damaging the industrial computer motherboard. Different suffix variants define different baud rates, port configurations and hardware revisions, and this base 16249-51 cannot be replaced directly by other communication interface cards without M-Bus protocol support. It relies on the ISA bus of the industrial computer for power supply and data interaction, and it cannot work independently without a compatible IPC host.

  The PCB board is coated with conformal coating to resist dust, condensation and light corrosive vapors in refinery and chemical central control rooms. The status LEDs on the card edge display network transmit activity, receive signal and module fault status for convenient on-site inspection.

  Most stocked units are surplus and fully tested cards recovered from decommissioned APACS SCADA workstations. Before installation, technicians need to configure ISA interrupt and address resources of the industrial computer, and match the baud rate of the M-Bus network. Incorrect resource allocation will lead to communication failure between workstation and control racks.

Industry Applications: Applied in petrochemical central monitoring rooms, gas metering management systems, boiler SCADA platforms and water treatment control centers for data interconnection between IPC host and APACS+ M-Bus network.
