The SEW ROQ 424 512 03S17-58 rotary encoder is a multiturn absolute encoder supplied for SEW servo motors, manufactured by HEIDENHAIN. It is widely used for position and speed feedback of SEW servo drive systems. This encoder has 512 signal periods per revolution and adopts EnDat 2.2 digital interface to realize stable and high-speed data communication between encoder and SEW inverter. It supports battery-free multiturn position storage, and the position data can still be retained after power interruption. It adopts integrated bearing structure and built-in stator coupling, which can compensate small installation deviation and reduce mechanical stress.

The supply voltage of this encoder is 10–30V DC, the maximum allowable speed reaches 12000 rpm, and it has excellent shock and vibration resistance to adapt to harsh workshop operating conditions. It is matched with SEW synchronous servo motors and used together with SEW MOVIDRIVE series drives. If the encoder is damaged, the drive will lose position feedback signal and report position fault alarm.
