Product Details:
The SEW BST0.7S-400V safety brake module belongs to the BST series, DIN rail mounted safety brake control unit from SEW-EURODRIVE, specially designed for controlling SEW spring-loaded electromagnetic brakes on asynchronous and synchronous motors. This model works with 380–400V AC supply, it converts AC input into stable DC brake voltage for the brake coil, and implements safe two-channel brake cut-off logic which meets functional safety standards. It is a safety-related component used to reliably release and engage the motor brake, and it is widely matched with MOVIDRIVE, MOVITRAC and MOVIDYN drive systems for lifting, conveying and positioning axes requiring safe holding brake control.
This brake module supports safe disconnection of the brake power circuit, and it can be integrated into the machine safety circuit together with the STO safety function of the drive. It has built-in circuit diagnosis functions to detect internal component damage, coil open circuit, short circuit and supply voltage loss. If the BST0.7S-400V module fails, the motor brake cannot be released normally and the motor cannot run; in some fault scenarios, the brake may lose holding force and cause load slipping, which brings major safety risks to lifting and inclined conveying equipment. It reserves brake status feedback signal terminals to send brake engaged/released status back to PLC or drive controller for interlock logic.
This unit adopts IP20 compact housing structure, standard DIN rail installation inside the control cabinet, and it is equipped with clearly marked power and brake wiring terminals. The working ambient temperature range is 0℃ to 55℃, storage temperature range from -20℃ to 70℃. LED status indicators on the front panel show power supply status and fault information, helping maintenance technicians quickly judge the working state of the brake control loop. It can be directly wired with SEW BE, BK, BR series motor brakes without extra external rectifier components.
This SEW BST0.7S-400V brake module is widely used as maintenance replacement spare parts for packaging machines, vertical lifting conveyors, material handling lines, machine tool axes and other automation equipment with safety holding brake requirements. The original manufacturer has discontinued this model, and most spare parts circulating on the global industrial spare parts market are fully tested refurbished units. Before installation, technicians need to check the power terminals, internal rectifier circuits and safety switching components for burnout or aging damage. After installation, complete brake wiring, safety signal configuration and test the brake release and holding sequence. Regular inspection of terminal tightness and dust cleaning on the module surface can reduce intermittent brake control faults and ensure the safety of the load holding function.
