The SEW ASI-Bin AS-Interface fieldbus adapter is an optional communication accessory designed for SEW MOVIDRIVE B, MOVITRAC B and other series of variable frequency drives and servo drives, which is used to realize the connection between SEW drive units and AS-Interface fieldbus network. It converts the internal drive communication signal into the standard ASi bus signal, so that the drive can exchange speed, status, fault and setpoint data with the upper PLC or ASi master station. This adapter is a compact plug-in card structure, which can be installed on the reserved expansion slot of the inverter, and it supports standard ASi communication protocol specifications, helping users to build a simple and cost-effective field-level sensor and actuator control network.

This ASI-Bin adapter supports ASi profile for drive devices, can transmit real-time feedback data such as drive ready status, fault bits, actual speed and current, and receive control commands including start, stop, speed setpoint and fault reset from the master controller. It has built-in communication monitoring function, which can detect bus short circuit, signal interruption, address conflict and communication timeout. If the ASI-Bin adapter is damaged or the bus cable is disconnected, the drive will lose the ASi communication channel, the PLC cannot read the drive operating data or send control instructions, and the automation production line will report communication fault and stop the related process.

This adapter adopts IP20 cabinet-mounted structure, suitable for installation inside the electrical cabinet together with the SEW drive. It is equipped with ASi bus connection terminals and status LED indicators, which can display bus power, communication activity and fault status for maintenance technicians to quickly judge the communication quality. The working ambient temperature range is 0℃ to 55℃, and the storage temperature range is -20℃ to 70℃.
