Details

Product Details:

The SEW 055-503 frequency inverter is a robust drive spare part developed by SEW-EURODRIVE for three-phase asynchronous motor speed regulation. This vfd unit adopts V/f and vector control algorithms, adjusting output frequency and voltage dynamically to change motor rotation speed and torque. It receives speed reference signals from local terminals or fieldbus interfaces, processes internal control logic, and delivers variable-frequency power output to drive the matched SEW AC motor. It supports soft start and soft stop functions to cut down inrush current and mechanical impact during startup, speed change and shutdown. If this frequency inverter fails, operators will encounter motor speed instability, overload alarms, overvoltage protection and unexpected equipment shutdown, disrupting continuous production operation.

This vfd unit is designed for cabinet mounting with compact modular structure. It accepts 380–500V three-phase AC input, and supports optional EMC filter, braking unit connection, multi-channel digital and analog I/O terminals. It can be fitted with SEW operating panel and communication option modules for parameter setup, remote monitoring and host linkage. Multiple built-in protection functions are included, covering overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheat, short circuit and motor overload protection. The rated working ambient temperature range is 0℃ to 55℃, and storage temperature ranges from -20℃ to 70℃. The front panel is equipped with digital display and LED status indicators, showing running frequency, output current and fault codes for maintenance technicians to quickly locate faults.

This SEW 055-503 frequency inverter is widely used as maintenance replacement spare parts for conveyors, packaging machines, mixers, pumps and other automation equipment that requires variable speed control. The original manufacturer has discontinued this model, and most units circulating on the global industrial spare parts market are fully tested refurbished units. Before installation, technicians need to inspect power IGBT modules, electrolytic capacitors, driving chips, cooling fans, PCB traces and power terminals for aging, bulging and poor contact. After installation, users need to input motor nameplate parameters, select control mode, adjust acceleration and deceleration ramps, and complete no-load and load running tests. Proper parameter configuration and regular inspection of this frequency inverter can ensure stable motor operation and reduce unplanned production downtime.
