ABB CI858 is a DriveBus communication interface module designed for ABB AC800M and System 800xA DCS distributed control systems. The DriveBus communication interface module serves as the bridge between AC800M controller and ABB variable frequency drives, realizing high-speed bidirectional transmission of drive control commands, current and voltage feedback signals, fault status and operating parameters. This ABB CI858 module adopts proprietary DriveBus protocol, it can connect up to 24 ABB drive units and support real-time high-speed data interaction for high-power drive control. The AC800M DCS drive communication unit is equipped with built-in self-diagnostic function and LED status indicators, which can continuously monitor communication link quality and module hardware status, and output fault alarm information for fast on-site maintenance. It adopts galvanic isolation design to prevent surge signals and electromagnetic interference from power drive side from damaging the main controller hardware. It supports hot swap function, users can replace the module without shutting down the whole DCS system and reduce production downtime. It can be configured through Control Builder engineering software for communication parameter setup and program debugging. Widely applied in power, metallurgy, mining, pulp & paper and chemical industries, it is essential spare part for DCS and large drive system maintenance, upgrade and transformation.
