Product Details

The NI PCI-6230 is an isolated M-series multifunction DAQ card built for PCI bus measurement systems, designed for reliable signal acquisition in environments with ground potential difference and electrical noise. It provides 8 single-ended or 4 differential analog input channels with 16-bit resolution and a maximum aggregate sampling rate of 250 kS/s. This model adopts bank isolation design to separate analog and digital domains, which protects the board from transient voltage spikes and suppresses common-mode interference. It comes with 4 bidirectional 5 V TTL/CMOS digital I/O lines and two independent 32-bit counter-timer channels. Users can select multiple programmable voltage ranges to match different sensor outputs, and NI-MCal calibration technology guarantees stable long-term measurement accuracy. The onboard FIFO buffer maintains continuous data streaming and reduces data loss risks during cyclic sampling tasks. Compared with non-isolated M-series DAQ cards, its isolation feature makes it more suitable for field signal collection instead of only laboratory use.

This DAQ card uses a dedicated signal connector for wiring, compatible with shielded cables and signal conditioning accessories for low-level sensor measurement. It supports analog and digital triggering modes and flexible clock configuration. The RTSI bus allows synchronization with other NI DAQ instruments to build multi-board coordinated test systems. The dual 32-bit counter channels support pulse counting, frequency measurement, period capture and encoder signal monitoring. Digital I/O lines can read external status signals and drive low-power TTL circuits for trigger routing and simple interlock control. It supports DMA data transmission to reduce CPU load during continuous sampling, and built-in self-calibration compensates gain and offset drift to keep measurement stable for long-running tests.

This multifunction daq card is widely used for industrial sensor monitoring, field signal logging, power equipment testing, small batch manufacturing verification, strain measurement and OEM isolated measurement equipment integration. It supports NI-DAQmx drivers and works well with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and C/C++ programming environments, so engineers can quickly develop isolated data acquisition programs. As a discontinued legacy M-series DAQ hardware, the PCI-6230 is mainly supplied as spare parts to maintain existing measurement systems. It can preserve mature test workflows and avoid the high cost of upgrading the whole test platform. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 55°C, supporting stable continuous operation in laboratory and light industrial sites.
