Product Details

The NI PCI-5412 is a high-performance 14-bit arbitrary waveform generator built for PCI bus platforms, designed for generating standard function signals and custom arbitrary waveforms for automated stimulus-response testing. It offers one analog output channel with a maximum sampling rate of 100 MS/s, supporting sine waves up to 20 MHz, square waves up to 5 MHz, and triangle and ramp waveforms up to 1 MHz. It adopts DDS direct digital synthesis technology for fine frequency tuning, and supports waveform linking and looping, allowing users to construct complex signal sequences without repeated waveform downloading. The onboard waveform memory is available in multiple configurations including 8 MB, 32 MB and 256 MB versions, which can store long waveform segments for burst and continuous playback.

This AWG card supports software-selectable output impedance of 50 Ω or 75 Ω, and programmable attenuation from 0 dB to 51 dB. The maximum output amplitude reaches 12 Vpp into a 50 Ω load, with adjustable DC offset to fit different test requirements. It integrates PLL clock synchronization, which can lock to an external reference clock to align signal timing with other measurement instruments. It is equipped with two external trigger inputs and one marker output channel, and supports continuous, burst, triggered and stepped generation modes. The front panel uses SMB connectors for analog output, reference clock and trigger signals. NI-TClk synchronization technology is supported, so multiple PCI-5412 modules can be synchronized together with low skew to expand multi-channel signal generation systems. Built-in digital filters and digital gain adjustment help optimize signal quality and reduce spurious components. The standard PCI form factor is easy to install into industrial PC chassis and can pair with NI digitizers and DSA cards for complete stimulus and acquisition test systems.

This arbitrary waveform generator card is widely used in semiconductor component characterization, filter frequency response calibration, communication signal simulation, sensor excitation testing, audio equipment verification, power electronics transient injection and aerospace component stimulus validation. It is driven by the NI-FGEN driver, compatible with LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and C/C++ programming environments, supporting waveform editing, sequence programming, marker configuration and automatic sweep control. As a discontinued legacy AWG hardware, the PCI-5412 is mainly used for maintenance and replacement of existing automated test benches. It delivers stable, repeatable custom waveforms, preserves mature test workflows and avoids the high cost of rebuilding the whole measurement system. Its operating temperature range is 0°C to 55°C, supporting reliable continuous operation for laboratory and industrial test tasks.
