Product Details:
NI PCI-1408 is a monochrome PCI IMAQ frame grabber designed for analog camera acquisition and industrial visual inspection, and this analog frame grabber supports up to four analog cameras through internal multiplexing, with only one ADC shared for sequential frame capture. It works with both interlaced and progressive scan monochrome cameras, supporting standard formats including RS-170, CCIR and custom non-standard camera timing. It features asynchronous reset trigger function, which can capture frames immediately upon trigger signal instead of waiting for the end of the current frame, making it suitable for high-precision event-triggered inspection. It is widely used for semiconductor wafer inspection, PCB surface defect detection, part dimension verification, product positioning capture, laboratory image measurement and legacy multi-camera vision system renovation. Engineers can develop vision programs with LabVIEW, NI Vision Development Module and NI-IMAQ driver, and the RTSI bus interface allows timing and trigger synchronization with other NI DAQ and frame grabber cards to achieve stable rtsi timing synchronization.
Key specifications and parameters: 8-bit ADC, pixel clock range from 5 MHz to 20 MHz. It supports ROI acquisition and pixel decimation to reduce data transmission load. It is equipped with dedicated external trigger and digital I/O lines for connecting photoelectric sensors, proximity switches and PLC signals. The board uses a 25-pin D-SUB connector, and IMAQ-A2504 or IMAQ-A2514 accessory cables are required to expand to 4 BNC video channels. It adopts standard PCI bus, powered by PCI slot +5 V and +12 V power supply. The operating temperature range is 0 ℃ to 55 ℃, storage temperature -20 ℃ to 70 ℃, 10%–90% non-condensing humidity. Status LED indicators display video lock and trigger status for quick fault location during commissioning. Since it adopts single ADC time-division multiplexing, the frame rate per channel will decrease when multiple cameras are used at the same time, and it cannot realize true simultaneous acquisition of multiple cameras.
This multiplexed analog video input board is an end-of-life legacy NI hardware. We supply fully inspected and tested refurbished units for replacement and maintenance of old monochrome vision inspection systems. It can be matched with analog monochrome CCD cameras, light sources and terminal accessories to build multi-angle inspection benches. It is widely adopted in electronic manufacturing workshops, semiconductor test stations, university vision research labs and precision metrology platforms. As a flexible analog frame grabber with asynchronous reset, it provides reliable multi-camera sequential capture for legacy automated inspection projects.
