Product Details:
NI PC-DIO-96 is a classic ISA-bus 96-channel digital I/O board for old desktop PC measurement and control systems, and this isa digital i/o board adopts four 8255A PPI chips to realize flexible parallel pattern control for laboratory and production test equipment. All 96 channels are bidirectional TTL/CMOS compatible ports, which can be divided into multiple 8-bit sub-ports and independently configured as input or output. It supports strobed handshake transmission mode, which is suitable for data exchange with peripheral instruments and logic devices. It is widely used for relay matrix switching, fixture signal reading, component functional test, old automated production station logic control, teaching experiment platform and parallel data transmission. Developers can program the board via LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI and legacy NI-DAQ driver, and it also supports register-level programming for customized timing logic, which helps maintain stable 8255 ppi handshake communication on legacy industrial systems.
Key specifications and parameters: 96 bidirectional 5V TTL/CMOS digital channels, grouped into 12 independent 8-bit ports controlled by four PPI chips. Each port can be set as input, output or handshake mode. It integrates an onboard 8253 programmable interval timer with 2 MHz clock, which can generate periodic interrupt signals for timing tasks. The board connects external signals through a 100-pin male ribbon connector. It draws power from the ISA slot +5 V supply, typical current consumption 0.45 A and maximum 1.2 A. The ISA non-plug-and-play design requires manual jumper configuration for base address, IRQ and DMA resources before use. Input low level is 0.8 V maximum, input high level is 2.0 V minimum; output high voltage reaches 2.4 V minimum at light load. The operating temperature range is 0 ℃ to 70 ℃, storage temperature -55 ℃ to 150 ℃, humidity 5%–90% non-condensing. It is a software-timed digital board without hardware change detection, suitable for static digital pattern output and status sampling.
This legacy isa bus switching card is an end-of-life legacy NI hardware. We supply fully inspected and tested refurbished units for replacement and maintenance of old test benches and industrial control equipment. It can cooperate with analog acquisition boards, relay terminal blocks and signal conditioning modules to build comprehensive functional test systems. It is widely adopted in electronic manufacturing test stations, university measurement teaching labs, equipment retrofitting projects and legacy automated control platforms. As a high-density parallel digital interface, it provides reliable bidirectional TTL port control for long-running legacy test systems.
