Product Details:
NI CVS-1454 is a compact fanless industrial vision controller from NI Compact Vision System series, designed for reliable machine vision inspection and real-time vision processing on factory production lines. This vision controller works with IEEE 1394a IIDC-compliant cameras to capture, analyze and judge image signals automatically. It is widely used for part presence detection, dimension measurement, surface defect checking, barcode reading, assembly verification and packaging quality inspection. Users can develop vision programs with LabVIEW Real-Time and NI Vision Development Module, set inspection logic, output pass/fail signals and transmit inspection data via Ethernet. It is a distributed vision unit that can be directly installed near production stations to reduce signal delay for firewire image capture.
Key specifications and parameters: 400 MHz Intel Celeron processor, 128 MB DRAM and 32 MB non-volatile storage. It is equipped with three IEEE 1394a ports for connecting firewire cameras, one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, one RS232 serial port and one VGA video output port for on-site image preview. The digital I/O includes 13 isolated 24V inputs, 4 isolated 24V outputs, plus dedicated TTL I/O channels for interlocking with PLC, sensors and actuators. The power supply is 24 VDC ±10%, typical power consumption 12 W, maximum 22 W excluding camera power. The operating temperature range is 0 ℃ to 55 ℃, storage temperature -20 ℃ to 70 ℃, 10%–90% non-condensing humidity. It supports DIN-rail mounting and panel mounting, no fan or vent structure, improving stability in dusty workshop environments. Status LED indicators help technicians quickly check power, communication and fault status during commissioning and maintenance.
This vision controller is an end-of-life legacy NI hardware. We supply fully tested refurbished units for replacement and maintenance of old machine vision stations. It is commonly paired with NI 1394 industrial cameras and terminal accessories for stable firewire image capture. It has been widely deployed in automotive component inspection, electronic assembly lines, food packaging sorting, pharmaceutical packaging verification and general manufacturing quality control. As a compact real-time vision unit, it provides stable and repeatable inspection results for automated production.
