Details

Product Details:

NI 9381 is a cost-effective C Series multifunction I/O module exclusively designed for CompactRIO platforms, and this multifunction i/o module combines analog input, analog output and bidirectional digital channels in one single slot to deliver flexible mixed signal closed-loop test and control simulation for embedded automation and validation systems. It adopts multiplexed analog architecture with shared timing engine, which balances channel density and budget for general test tasks. It is widely used for small-scale control loop simulation, sensor signal replication, actuator drive verification, educational control system development, embedded controller HIL test, prototype machine control and low-speed data logging. Engineers can configure all channels, define digital directions and implement closed-loop logic through LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Real-Time, supporting scan interface mode for fast deployment and direct FPGA access for custom timing control, which simplifies the setup of 0-5v voltage simulation projects.

Key specifications and parameters: 12-bit SAR ADC and DAC, 8 single-ended analog input channels with 0 V to 5 V input range, 8 analog output channels also rated 0 V to 5 V. The aggregate analog update rate reaches 20 kS/s, and the sampling bandwidth is limited to 1 kHz. It integrates 4 channels of LVTTL bidirectional DIO for trigger handshake, interlock signal and simple status communication. Analog input impedance is 1 MΩ parallel with 50 pF, while each analog output channel can drive up to ±1 mA with short-circuit protection. The module uses a 37-pin D-SUB connector for consolidated wiring, and conformal coated version is available for dusty and humid industrial environments. The operating temperature range is -40 ℃ to 70 ℃, storage temperature -40 ℃ to 85 ℃, 10%–90% non-condensing humidity. It supports hardware trigger synchronization to coordinate with other C Series acquisition modules, vibration modules and switching cards within the same CompactRIO chassis. Status LEDs offer straightforward visual feedback for power and communication status during commissioning and troubleshooting.

This compactrio integrated I/O unit is a classic NI C Series hardware. We supply fully inspected and tested refurbished units for replacement and upgrade of existing CompactRIO control and simulation systems. It is ideal for building compact hardware-in-the-loop benches without occupying multiple separate I/O slots. It is widely adopted in university automation labs, small embedded product validation, mechatronics prototype testing and industrial auxiliary control systems. As an all-in-one mixed signal I/O device, it provides convenient integrated voltage acquisition and signal generation for low-speed closed-loop control applications.
