NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS cFP-2020 is a Compact FieldPoint embedded real-time controller running LabVIEW Real-Time (Phar Lap ETS) for autonomous distributed industrial measurement and control. It is equipped with 64 MB DRAM and 64 MB flash memory, integrated 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation Ethernet port, two RS-232 serial ports and a CompactFlash slot for removable data storage and program backup. It supports cFP series I/O modules including analog input, analog output, digital I/O and thermocouple modules. It has built-in web server and FTP server, supports remote front panel access and file transfer. The power supply range is 11–30 VDC, supports panel mounting and rack mounting, equipped with hardware watchdog and built-in self-diagnosis function. It supports larger data logging tasks compared with cFP-2000 and cFP-2010. This legacy industrial controller is end-of-life, available stock are refurbished replacement spares for vintage industrial automation systems.

This real-time controller can run standalone LabVIEW RT programs, realize on-site closed-loop control, continuous data logging and alarm logic. Users can download embedded applications, configure network parameters and I/O mapping through NI MAX. It supports remote browser access of front panel and FTP file management, convenient for remote monitoring and data export. It communicates with upper computer via TCP/IP, and can cooperate with multiple cFP I/O modules to build distributed monitoring and control nodes. The rugged industrial hardware can adapt to factory workshop environment and support long-term unattended operation. It is a programmable RT controller, not a simple communication gateway like cFP-1804 and cFP-1808.

It adopts compact industrial metal housing, powered by external 11–30 VDC power supply. Front panel with RJ45 Ethernet port, dual RS-232 serial ports, CompactFlash socket and status LED indicators for power, run, fault and network. Hot swap of I/O modules is supported, power off is recommended when replacing the whole controller unit or CompactFlash card. The structure meets industrial shock, vibration and EMC requirements for cabinet and panel installation.
