NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS cFP-2000 is a Compact FieldPoint embedded real-time controller, running LabVIEW Real-Time operating system, used for autonomous distributed industrial measurement and control. It is equipped with 16 MB DRAM and 16 MB nonvolatile flash memory, integrated 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation Ethernet port and one RS-232 serial port. It can drive cFP series I/O modules including analog input, analog output, digital I/O and thermocouple modules, executes control logic independently without continuous connection with host PC. The power supply range is 11–30 VDC, supports panel mounting and rack mounting, and provides hardware watchdog and built-in self-diagnosis function. It only supports LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5.1 and earlier versions. This legacy industrial controller is end-of-life, available stock are refurbished replacement spares for vintage industrial automation systems.

This real-time controller can run standalone LabVIEW RT programs, implement closed-loop control, data logging and alarm logic on site. Users can download embedded application through NI MAX, configure network parameters and I/O mapping. It communicates with upper computer via TCP/IP, and can work with multiple cFP I/O modules to build distributed monitoring nodes. Its rugged industrial design adapts to factory workshop environment, suitable for long-term unattended control tasks. It differs from cFP-1804 and cFP-1808 network modules, it is a programmable real-time controller instead of simple communication gateway.

It adopts compact industrial metal housing, powered by external 11–30 VDC power supply. Front panel with RJ45 Ethernet port, RS-232 serial port and status LED indicators for power, run, fault and network. Hot swap of I/O modules is supported, power off is recommended when replacing the whole controller unit. The structure meets industrial shock, vibration and EMC requirements for cabinet and panel installation.
