NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS cFP-1804 is a 4-slot Compact FieldPoint Ethernet resource server module, belonging to NI distributed industrial I/O platform. It integrates 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation RJ45 Ethernet port, adopts event-driven communication mechanism, transmits I/O data only when signal value changes to reduce network load. It supports up to four cFP series I/O modules, including analog input, analog output, digital I/O, thermocouple and strain modules. The power supply range is 11–30 VDC, supports panel mounting and rack mounting, and provides built-in self-diagnosis for connected I/O modules. It works with FieldPoint software, MAX configuration tool and LabVIEW, supports TCP/IP communication protocol. This legacy industrial module is end-of-life, available stock are refurbished replacement spares for vintage industrial monitoring and automation systems.

This network interface module acts as the communication gateway between host computer and distributed field I/O. It caches I/O data locally and responds to read requests from client devices, which is suitable for remote distributed data collection and process monitoring. Users can configure I/O parameters, alarm thresholds and refresh strategy through Measurement & Automation Explorer. It supports multi-point distributed deployment, widely used together with cFP-AI, cFP-AO, cFP-DIO series modules. The robust industrial design can adapt to harsh workshop environment, and it maintains stable communication performance for long-term unattended operation.

It adopts compact industrial metal housing, powered by external 11–30 VDC power supply. Front panel with RJ45 Ethernet connector, status LED indicators for power, link and communication. Hot swap of I/O modules is supported, but power off is recommended when replacing the whole cFP-1804 unit. The structure meets industrial shock, vibration and EMC requirements for cabinet and panel installation.
