Product Details:
MOTOROLA MVME167-033B belongs to MVME167 series 6U double-high VMEbus embedded single board computer, it is the revised version of MVME167-033A, equipped with MC68040 33MHz 32-bit processor, 8KB on-chip cache, integrated FPU and MMU. This variant is configured with 16MB parity DRAM, 128KB battery-backed SRAM, four EIA-232-D serial ports, AUI 10Mbps Ethernet interface and narrow SCSI controller, also equipped with Centronics compatible parallel printer port. It supports VMEbus A16/A24/A32 addressing and D8/D16/D32/D64 data transfer and block DMA, integrates four EPROM firmware sockets, battery powered real-time clock and hardware watchdog circuit. The built-in MVME167Bug monitor supports serial console debugging, SCSI boot and network boot configuration. This legacy embedded board is end-of-life, available stock are refurbished replacement spares for vintage industrial and test automation systems.
This SBC can act as VMEbus master or slave and supports high-speed burst transfer and DMA function for stable VME backplane communication. It carries integrated MC68040 floating-point unit to handle motion control and complex numerical calculation tasks. It provides four EIA-232D serial channels for console and multi-peripheral connection, SCSI port for local storage data logging and AUI Ethernet port for host communication, the parallel port can connect external printer and peripheral devices. Users can match it with other VMEbus I/O, acquisition and motion modules to build a complete embedded control system. Optimized PCB layout reduces electromagnetic noise interference, it maintains stable compatibility with VxWorks and other classic real-time operating systems.
It adopts standard double-high 6U eurocard mechanical specification and draws +5V, ±12V power supply from the VME backplane. Front panel provides serial connectors, AUI Ethernet port, SCSI port, parallel port and status LED indicators. Hot swap operation is not supported; power supply must be shut down before installation or removal. The PCB and soldering assembly meet industrial shock and vibration specifications for cabinet mounting.
It is widely deployed in semiconductor test equipment, industrial control subsystems and long-cycle industrial data logging racks requiring floating-point operation, parity memory protection, 33MHz high-speed CPU, 16MB medium capacity DRAM, SCSI storage, Ethernet communication and parallel port expansion. Typical application scenarios include VME rack main CPU replacement, multi-function data acquisition system maintenance and legacy automation platform retrofit. Automation integrators select this Motorola MVME167-033B for its MC68040 33MHz,16MB parity DRAM configuration, serial ports,SCSI,Ethernet, parallel port.
