Product Details:
MOTOROLA MVME162-533 belongs to MVME162FX 500 series 6U VMEbus single board computer, equipped with MC68040 32MHz 32-bit processor with integrated hardware FPU and 8KB on-chip cache and MMU. This variant is configured with 16MB parity DRAM, 512KB battery-backed SRAM, dual configurable EIA-232-D/EIA-530 serial ports, onboard narrow SCSI controller and 10Mbps Ethernet transceiver, paired with four IndustryPack expansion slots. It integrates 1MB flash memory for firmware storage, battery-backed real-time clock, programmable tick timers and hardware watchdog circuit. The built-in MVME162Bug monitor supports serial console debugging, memory verification, SCSI boot and network boot configuration. This legacy embedded board is end-of-life, available stock are refurbished replacement spares for vintage VME automation racks.
This SBC can act as VMEbus master or slave and supports A16/A24/A32 addressing and D8/D16/D32 data transfer with interrupt management. It has 16MB parity memory buffer and complete onboard interfaces including SCSI local storage and Ethernet network transmission. It can store large batches of process data locally and transmit real-time operating information to upper host at the same time. Users can install up to four IndustryPack mezzanine modules to expand analog, digital and special signal interfaces to build multi-channel acquisition and control systems for semiconductor test and process monitoring. Optimized multi-layer PCB routing suppresses electromagnetic noise interference from servo drives and heavy industrial cabinet environments. It maintains stable compatibility with VxWorks and other classic real-time operating systems.
It adopts standard 6U eurocard mechanical specification and draws +5V, ±12V power supply from the VME backplane. Front panel provides serial connectors and status LED indicators, and the P2 rear connector routes Ethernet, SCSI and mezzanine signals to transition boards. Hot swap operation is not supported; power supply must be shut down before installation or removal. The PCB and soldering assembly meet industrial shock and vibration specifications for cabinet mounting.
It is widely deployed in semiconductor test subsystems and long-cycle data logging racks requiring floating-point operation, SCSI storage and Ethernet communication. Typical application scenarios include VME rack main CPU replacement, large-volume continuous data acquisition system maintenance and complex automation platform retrofit. Automation integrators select this Motorola MVME162-533 for its MC68040 FPU, 32MHz 16MB parity DRAM configuration, configurable serial ports, SCSI, Ethernet and four IndustryPack slots.
