Product Details:

MOTOROLA MVME162-13 belongs to MVME162 series 6U VMEbus single board computer, equipped with MC68040 25MHz 32-bit processor with integrated hardware FPU. This variant is configured with 4MB DRAM, 512KB battery-backed SRAM, two EIA-232-D serial ports, onboard 10Mbps Ethernet transceiver and four IndustryPack expansion slots, it does not integrate SCSI controller. It integrates battery-backed NVRAM, real-time clock, watchdog timer and VME system controller function. The onboard VME162Bug monitor firmware supports serial debug, memory operation and system boot configuration. This legacy SBC is discontinued, available stock are refurbished spare units for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, industrial test racks and vintage VME control systems.

This CPU board can act as VMEbus master or slave and supports A32/D32 VMEbus transfer and multi-level interrupt handling. It carries hardware floating-point arithmetic capability and Ethernet communication, suitable for motion control and data acquisition tasks that need floating-point calculation and network upload. Shielded backplane wiring reduces electromagnetic interference generated by servo power units and harsh workshop environment. It has good compatibility with classic real-time operating systems such as VxWorks and RTEMS.

It follows standard 6U double eurocard form factor, powered by +5V, ±12V DC supplied from VME backplane. Front panel carries STATUS LED indicators, plus RESET push button for convenient on-site diagnosis. P2 rear connector expands Ethernet, serial and IndustryPack I/O signals. Hot swap is not supported, power supply must be cut off before removal and replacement. Industrial PCB and vibration-resistant soldering process adapt to continuous factory multi-shift operation.

All units pass power-on self-test, memory detection, VME bus handshake test, Ethernet, serial communication test and long-time aging test before shipment to guarantee stable real-time operation.

It is widely used on semiconductor wafer processing equipment and legacy motion control systems that demand floating-point computation. Typical application scenarios include VME rack main CPU replacement, legacy automation system maintenance and equipment retrofit. Automation integrators select this Motorola MVME162-13 for its MC68040 FPU, 25MHz 4MB DRAM configuration, Ethernet and four IndustryPack ports, no SCSI.
