Product Details:
MOTOROLA MVME117A belongs to classic MVME68k series 6U VMEbus single board computer, upgraded variant based on MVME117 hardware platform. It adopts MC68000 series processor, equipped with battery-backed CMOS RAM, real-time clock, watchdog timer and VME bus arbitration circuit. It carries EPROM sockets for firmware storage, supports VME system controller function and A16/A24 addressing mode. This legacy CPU board is discontinued, available stock are refurbished spare units for old CNC control racks, industrial test systems and laboratory automation equipment.
This SBC works as the main control core inside standard VME chassis. It runs embedded control firmware, communicates with VME I/O modules, handles interrupt signals and exchanges data with upper host system. The onboard VMEbug monitor firmware supports serial debugging, memory read-write and boot configuration. Shielded backplane connection reduces electromagnetic interference generated by servo power drives and harsh workshop environment.
It follows standard 6U double eurocard specification, powered by +5V, ±12V DC from VME backplane. Front panel integrates RUN, HALT, FAIL status LED indicators, RESET and ABORT push buttons for convenient on-site fault diagnosis. P2 rear connector expands extended I/O signals. It does not support hot swap operation, power must be cut off before removal and replacement. Industrial PCB and vibration-resistant soldering technology adapt to continuous factory operation.
All units pass power-on self-test, memory verification, VME bus communication test and long-time aging test before shipment to guarantee stable real-time operation under multi-shift industrial production.
It is widely used on legacy semiconductor processing equipment, metallurgy data acquisition cabinets, vintage CNC platforms and industrial measurement systems. Typical application scenarios include VME rack main CPU replacement, old automation system maintenance and equipment retrofit. Automation integrators select this Motorola MVME117A for its mature MVME68k architecture and good compatibility with early VME peripheral modules.
