Product Details:
MOTOROLA MVME-147A belongs to classic MVME147 series 6U VMEbus single board computer, general A revision hardware platform without fixed memory and speed sub-suffix. It adopts MC68030 32-bit processor and MC68888 floating-point coprocessor, supports configurable DRAM capacity from 4MB up to 32MB parity DRAM, equipped with four EIA-232-D serial ports, Centronics parallel port, DMA SCSI controller and onboard Ethernet transceiver. It integrates 4K×8 battery-backed SRAM, real-time clock, watchdog timer and VME system controller function. This legacy SBC is discontinued, available stock are refurbished spare units for legacy VME control racks, semiconductor manufacturing equipment and vintage CNC systems.
This CPU board acts as the main master computing unit inside standard VME chassis. It supports A32/D32, A24/D16 VMEbus protocol, can work as VME bus master or slave and handles seven-level VME interrupt signals. Onboard VMEbug monitor firmware supports serial debugging, memory operation and system boot setup. Shielded backplane wiring reduces electromagnetic interference generated by servo power units and harsh workshop environment. It has good compatibility with classic real-time operating systems including VxWorks.
It follows standard 6U double eurocard specification, powered by +5V, ±12V DC supplied from VME backplane. Front panel carries SCON, RUN, FAIL, STATUS LED indicators, plus RESET and ABORT push buttons for convenient on-site fault diagnosis. P2 rear connector expands SCSI and extended I/O signals. Hot swap is not supported, power must be cut off before removal and replacement. Industrial PCB and anti-vibration soldering technology adapt to continuous factory multi-shift operation.
All units pass power-on self-test, memory detection, VME bus handshake test, Ethernet, serial and SCSI communication test and long-time aging test before shipment to guarantee stable real-time operation.
It is widely used on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, metallurgy data acquisition cabinets, industrial measurement platforms and old CNC control systems. Typical application scenarios include VME rack main CPU replacement, legacy automation system maintenance and equipment retrofit. Automation integrators select this Motorola MVME-147A for its flexible configurable memory and clock options and mature MVME147 architecture.
