MODICON PCE984785, also known as PC-E984-785, is a high-performance rack-mounted CPU controller within the classic Modicon 984 family. It supports optional 32K or 48K user logic memory and up to 64K register storage, capable of executing LL984 ladder logic for complicated process interlock, closed-loop regulation, arithmetic computation and sequential control. This processor is equipped with two independent Modbus serial ports and one Modbus Plus network port, supporting connection with programming terminals, local HMI and SCADA host, and it can build large distributed systems via S908 remote I/O bus. It supports maximum 16384 discrete I/O points and 1088 analog register I/O, and allows up to five local expansion racks together with multiple remote I/O drops. The front panel integrates LED status indicators and operation switches to display run status, network activity and hardware faults for fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. It adopts battery backup to preserve user program and runtime register data after power failure, and Modsoft is the matched programming software. Industrial-grade circuit design with built-in EMC filtering and surge suppression guarantees stable continuous operation under heavy electromagnetic interference in factory environments. As an obsolete original spare part, it is used for maintenance and retrofit of legacy Modicon 984 automation systems.
