MODICON AS-B882-239 is an intelligent high speed counter module designed for Modicon 800 I/O system and fully compatible with Modicon 984 rack PLC. This counter module captures pulse signals from encoders and pulse sensors to realize length calculation, speed monitoring and position tracking for automated production equipment. It supports quadrature pulse reading and preset value comparison, and can trigger local output actions once the counting value reaches the target without frequent polling from the main CPU. This pulse acquisition device provides two independent high speed counting channels together with extra auxiliary digital inputs and outputs for reset, enable and trigger control. The front panel is equipped with dedicated LED indicators for each channel, helping engineers check pulse activity and working status quickly on site. Built-in EMC filter and surge protection circuits stabilize pulse signals and reduce interference generated by inverters, contactors and heavy power cables. Users can configure counting direction, preset values and trigger modes through Modsoft or ProWORX32 software. As a discontinued industrial spare part, it serves for maintenance and retrofit of legacy automation racks. Direct replacement keeps the original encoder wiring, I/O mapping and control program unchanged to minimize production downtime.
