Product Details:
MODICON AS-B872-100 is a four-channel analog current output module belonging to the Modicon 800 series I/O family, originally produced under AEG Modicon. It receives digital setpoint commands from the host CPU over the backplane bus and converts these values into stable 4-20 mA analog current signals to drive field actuators such as control valves, proportional regulators and positioners for closed-loop process control. Each channel can be independently configured and scaled to match engineering units for flow, pressure, temperature and liquid level regulation. It adopts standard rack mounting and plugs directly into the Modicon 800 dedicated backplane. Front panel LED indicators show module ready status, bus activity and channel fault alarms to support fast on-site inspection and troubleshooting. Integrated signal filtering and surge suppression circuits protect analog output lines from electrical noise and transient spikes induced by long field cables in heavy interference factory environments. As an obsolete original spare part, it is used for maintenance and retrofit of legacy Modicon process automation systems. Direct drop-in replacement keeps the existing actuator wiring, channel scaling parameters and rack layout unchanged, removing the need to redesign analog control loops and cutting production downtime.
