MODICON AS-B824-100 is a 16-point discrete DC output module belonging to the classic Modicon 800 series I/O family, originally launched by Gould Modicon. It receives output instructions from the host PLC CPU and drives field loads including indicator lamps, auxiliary relays, alarm buzzers and small solenoid valves via True-High 24 Vdc switching signals. The output channels are split into two independent groups with eight points each, supporting external 20 to 28 Vdc field power supply. Each channel integrates short-circuit protection and transient suppression to avoid damage caused by load surge and accidental short circuit. This module adopts standard rack mounting and plugs directly into the Modicon 800 I/O backplane. Every output channel is fitted with an individual status LED to visually show the on or off state of the switching channel. As an obsolete original spare part, it is mainly used for maintenance and retrofit of legacy Modicon distributed automation systems. Direct replacement keeps existing field wiring, terminal arrangement and rack configuration unchanged, lowering modification workload and cutting production downtime.
