MODICON AS-B805-016 is a 16-point discrete AC input module belonging to the classic Modicon 800 series I/O family, originally released by Gould Modicon. It collects on-off status signals from field sensors, limit switches and auxiliary contact devices and transmits the digital state data back to the host PLC CPU through the backplane bus. The input channels are divided into two independent groups with eight points each, supporting an operating voltage range of 80 to 130 Vac at 47 to 63 Hz. Every channel is equipped with built-in filtering and surge suppression circuits to filter transient electrical noise from the field side and prevent false triggering caused by interference. This module adopts standard rack mounting and can be directly inserted into the backplane of Modicon 800 I/O racks for fast integration. Each input point has a dedicated status LED to visually indicate the on or off state of the corresponding field signal. As an obsolete original spare part, it is mainly used for maintenance and retrofit of legacy Modicon distributed automation systems. Replacing with the original input card keeps the existing field wiring and rack configuration unchanged, which effectively cuts down modification work and reduces production downtime.
